How an FFL transfer works at Circle Star
- Call before you buy. Tell us what you are ordering and who is shipping it. We confirm we can receive it.
- Give the seller our shop details. Ship to Circle Star Firearms & Outdoors, 6320 Hwy 90 N, Anderson, TX 77830. Most sellers need a copy of our FFL before they ship. Have them call us and we will send it.
- We log it in and call you. When the package arrives we check it in and let you know it is ready.
- Come in with your ID. Bring a valid government-issued photo ID that shows your current address.
- Fill out the paperwork. You complete ATF Form 4473 at the counter and we run the federal background check.
- Take it home. Once the check clears, you pay the transfer fee and the firearm is yours.

What to bring
- A valid government-issued photo ID, such as a Texas driver license or ID card.
- If the address on your ID is not current, a government-issued document that shows your current address, such as a vehicle registration.
- Payment for the transfer fee.
Who can pick up a transfer
- Handguns: you must be at least 21 and a Texas resident.
- Rifles and shotguns: you must be at least 18. Out-of-state residents can pick up a rifle or shotgun in person when it is legal in both Texas and their home state.
- Everyone must be legally allowed to own a firearm and pass the background check.
Suppressors and other NFA items
Since an August 2026 federal court ruling, members of covered groups like Gun Owners of America can buy a suppressor over the counter with no Form 4, and if you buy your suppressor here, you can sign up for GOA in the store and we cover the $25 fee. Everyone else still goes through ATF approval. NFA transfers are $100 per item, and we do fingerprints, photos and eForms setup for free. How long does an FFL transfer take?
Most of the wait is shipping. Once the firearm is here and your background check clears, pickup takes one visit.
Can a private seller ship a gun to you?
Yes. Private sellers can ship to our FFL as long as they follow federal shipping rules. Call us first so we know it is coming.
What if my background check comes back delayed?
A delayed result means the FBI needs more time to finish the check. We will explain your options at the counter.
Can someone else pick up my firearm for me?
No. The person who fills out the Form 4473 and passes the background check has to be the buyer.
