ATF still takes Form 4s and Form 1s from anyone who wants an NFA (National Firearms Act) item on its registry, and we’ll file yours for you. It’s your choice now. Since October 9, 2026, a suppressor or an SBR/SBS can also go home on a 4473 and a background check, with no Form 4.
What we do
- We’ll do your eForm 4 or eForm 1 (ATF’s online filing) for you.
- We take your fingerprints and photos here.
- Bought a suppressor, SBR/SBS or AOW from another dealer? Transferring it in is $30 on a 4473, $50 on a Form 4 as an individual, or $100 through a trust.
- Making an SBR/SBS or suppressor and want it registered? Form 1 filing is $50, fingerprints included.
Why register?
ATF calls the October change an enforcement policy, not a change in the law, and says enforcement could come back. It also says items left unregistered generally can’t be registered later. Registering now costs nothing in tax. ATF posts its current wait times on its processing times page.
Individual or trust?
A trust lets other people you name have the item too, and ATF usually takes longer to approve one. Not sure which fits you? Ask us and we’ll explain. We don’t write trusts, though; for that, talk to a lawyer.

Do you charge for fingerprints?
Not separately. They’re included in the $50 Form 1 filing, and in the Form 4 transfer fee: $50 as an individual or $100 through a trust.
