Boresight or live fire?
A boresight lines the scope up with the barrel so you’re on paper. It isn’t a zero. A live-fire sight-in puts rounds through the gun with your ammo and adjusts the scope until it hits where you aim at the distance you choose. If you’re hunting with it, get the live-fire sight-in. We shoot every one on our own private range here on the property.
Thermal scopes
A thermal can’t see a plain paper target, so zeroing one takes a target that shows up as heat. Still shopping for one? Come look through a few at the store. What to bring
- The gun, cased or boxed and unloaded.
- A box of the exact ammo you hunt or carry with.
- The scope, rings and mount, if they aren’t on the gun yet.
Need a scope or a box of hunting ammo? Order it online and pick it up at the store. Most orders are ready in 3 to 5 business days, and we call you when yours is.
Deer season
Changed scopes or ammo mid-season? Bring it in and we’ll zero it again. TPWD lists the deer season dates by zone. Before you head out, run through our deer season rifle checklist. If you’re threading a barrel for a suppressor, do the threading first and the sight-in after, since a suppressor can shift your point of impact.

How much does it cost to sight in a rifle?
$50 a gun, plus ammo if you don’t bring your own. We’ll put your scope on and boresight it for free.
Can you sight in a thermal scope?
Yes. It’s $50 a gun, same as a rifle, and we shoot it on our own range here on the property. Bring the ammo you hunt with, or we’ll add the cost of ours.
How long does a sight-in take?
There’s no set turnaround. We’ll give you a time when you drop it off, and we call you when it’s ready.
Do you mount and boresight scopes?
Yes, and there’s no charge for it.
What distance should I zero my deer rifle at?
It depends on where you hunt. Plenty of Texas deer hunters zero at 100 yards; if your stand looks down a long sendero, ask us about 200. Tell us your setup and we’ll talk it through.
